Evan has experience in handling a broad range of intellectual property issues in a wide variety of technical areas. A sampling of matters relate to computer software, electronic design applications, mobile communication devices, machine learning systems, multimedia networks and systems, Internet and e-commerce applications, financial products and services, business methods, and mechanical devices. Evan is involved in the representation of businesses ranging from small, startup businesses to large, multinational corporations. In addition to his experience in preparing and prosecuting a multitude of patent applications, Evan has experience in researching and analyzing both legal and technical issues, and assisting in various phases of litigation and client counseling.

Before joining the firm as an attorney, Evan worked as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and worked with the firm as a summer associate. During this time, he gained valuable experience from his involvement in various matters related to patent prosecution, client counseling, and intellectual property litigation.

Evan earned his B.S. in Computer Engineering, highest honors, and his M.S. in Computer Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he was the president of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. Evan’s graduate-level coursework in Computer Engineering focused on control systems and machine learning. He fulfilled his M.S. degree based on a thesis project that developed a multi-camera video system for tracking arm gestures and estimating hand pose. In 2009, Evan received his J.D. from the George Mason University School of Law, where he was an officer in the Intellectual Property Law Society.
