Christian enjoys a diversified practice in intellectual property law. He leverages his practical experience and background in biochemistry to find dynamic, solution-oriented outcomes for his clients while maintaining the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

He currently concentrates on patent and trademark litigation, and has also represented clients in a variety of matters ranging from counterfeit goods seizures to trade dress violations. He’s worked with a variety of entities including graduate student start-ups and Fortune 500 companies—all of which place a premium on effective intellectual property strategy and creative problem solving.

Prior to joining Banner Witcoff, Christian worked for Saint Louis University’s Office of the General Counsel implementing university-wide intellectual property protection standards, negotiating research contracts, and preparing federal grants. He also previously worked as a law clerk at Anheuser Busch In-Bev, assisting in-house counsel on intellectual property, M&A, compliance, and litigation matters.

Christian attended Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he graduated with honors and earned a number of awards in his intellectual property classes, including patent law, international IP, pharmaceutical innovations, and IP licensing. He served as a staff editor on the Washington University Law Review and as president of the Intellectual Property Law Society.

Additionally, he excelled in the Washington University Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Clinic, giving St. Louis area inventors quality access to affordable legal services. He also volunteered with the Biotechnology and Life Science Advising Group (BALSA), a graduate student organization that teamed doctoral, medical, and law students into consulting groups that provided entrepreneurs with affordable consulting services.

Christian currently volunteers with the Edward J. Lewis II Lawyers in the Classroom Program, a Chicago Bar Association initiative that brings essential constitutional law programming to students across the Chicagoland region.
