The virutal seminar, “Exploring the Future of Cyber Technology and Intellectual Property Innovation,” will touch on a variety of topics ranging from diversity and ethics to patent filing strategies and data privacy.

Rob will present the plenary session with Kenneth B. Germain, senior counsel at Wood Herron & Evans LLP. They will debate whether the Constitution permits dual protection under design patent and trade dress for the same subject matter. Rob will take the position that coexistence is allowable and appropriate.

Banner Witcoff’s Corporate IP Roundtable programs will host a May 18 webinar to present in-house counsel perspectives on post-grant proceedings at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

Nearly every modern patent litigation involves a parallel dispute before the PTAB on the patentability of the issued patent. This webinar will examine both the short-term and long-term strategies for successfully navigating these disputes and co-pending district court litigations.

Banner Witcoff launched the North Shore Corporate IP Roundtable program in 2017 to provide educational and networking opportunities for in-house corporate counsel in the Chicago metropolitan area. Due to its success, the firm expanded the initiative to a second location in Chicago’s west suburbs and recently rolled out the program in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. All programs are currently being held remotely.
