This year’s survey was based on public records for Fortune 100 companies. Thomson Reuter’s IP Monitor was used to find out which firms represented Fortune 100 companies for patent prosecution. All patent applications and granted patents from January 2006 to December 2007 were counted in the survey. Thomson Reuter’s Litigation Monitor database was used to determine the most widely used firms for IP litigation in 2007.
