The article titled “Open Source Wins Landmark Legal Validation” covers a landmark ruling on open source software that gives open source developers who engage in licensing, and copyright their work, the right to control the modification and distribution of their product. Dannenberg states in the article that the ruling makes legal sense and that free distribution of software does not mean that copyright rights are waived.
